Awards Eligibility 2026

2026 has been…a slightly excessive year for my writing, I think. I did a rough tally and I think I had 50,000 words of prose come out this year, across ten separate short stories. That is basically too much and I promise not to do it again (no, really, this was a bizarre confluence of circumstances that will not be repeated).

If you are reading for awards — or simply reading to find New Things to enjoy or recommend — I would be very grateful if you kept any of my pieces in mind when it came to your consideration. It really means a lot!

In particular this year, I’d love it if you considered Three Fortunes on Alcestis as Told by the Fraud Baeliss Shudal, from February’s Clarkesworld, The Profitable Sentience of Household Goods, from May’s, and Five Bottles in Memory of the Winemaker Petronius Finch, from October’s. I think they are some of my best work.

If you want to look further than those, I’ll put the full list below!
